How long has it been since I posted in this blog? Since my engagement? I think? I really don't know because I did not view the blog before logging in.
Well, I'm married, I had a house built and I began playing in a local community orchestra (more about that in future posts.
Now, why would I continue to blog here in the age of facebook? Simple:
I FEEL LIKE IT!
Hope to update you more in the future.

New iPhone
No links in this post. Just heard that people were having "delays" in setting up their new iphones. Apple gave $30 iTunes credits to those having problems.

Summer Movie Review 2008
Hey readers! How's it going. It's August 1st, 2008 and I think it's time to review the movies I saw this summer.
I by no means consider myself to be a valid movie critic and I do not intend for my reviews to mean much of anything except to show people that I have indeed seen these movies.
Opinion:
Awesome movie! Iron Man is born of a rich man named Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) who designs and distributes weapons to the US military. His transformation from civilian to hero is really awesome.
I see the underline message of this movie as this: It's not enough to have a lot of money; You have to have intelligence. If Tony Stark had simply stopped at being rich and never embraced his academic abilities, his character would have been killed early in the movie. If this had happened, the movie would've only been about 20 minutes long and boring.
Movie #2: Get Smart
Director: Peter Segal
Opinion:
Two Tumbs Up! I never watched the 1965 TV show on which this movie is based, but from what I hear from others who have seen it, they place a bunch of classic items and themes into the movie that will keep the old school folk interested.
Steve Carell gives a perfect performance in this film as agent "Maxwell Smart" for a branch of the government that the general public is lead to believe no longer exists.
Again, I don't want to give the story line away. Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Anne Hathaway, and Dalip Singh also appear in this movie and play fitting characters.
Moral of the story... Sometimes those who are the best at what they do are the ones you need to trust the least. At least, that sounds like a good moral for this story... Oh, and bombs can be stored in the most musical of places! Yay!
Movie #3: The Dark Knight
Director: Christopher Nolan
Opinion:
All I can say about this movie is WOW! Heath Ledger as The Joker sums up why this movie is so amazing. It is really a shame that he died so young. If this performance was a glimps of the kind of actor he was developing into, the world lost a great.
In this 2nd installment of the new Batman series, The Joker takes over as Gotham City's main villain. This is a take on the Joker nobody has done before. Jack Nicholson's Joker was still slightly goofy and not really "evil." Heath Ledger's Joker is a demented, twisted and very dark. The kind of evil the Joker brings to Gotham is far beyond the normal Mafia criminals Batman helped Gotham deal with before.
If you are a expecting the "na na na na na Batman!" type of Batman, this movie is not for you. It is definitely a darker take on Batman.
One of my favorite things about these new Batman movies is that Gotham is a more realistic city. It's not all fantasy-like as it was in the previous Batman movie series.
I saw this movie in IMAX. Much of the movie was shot using IMAX cameras, thus, much of the movie took up the whole IMAX screen. If you have not seen this movie yet, go see it in IMAX. If it is no longer showing in IMAX... well... you missed out...

First Week Of School
I've made it through my first week of school as a middle school band director.
I could not have asked for a more perfect first week either. The kids were great, I felt very comfortable in front of them and they were well behaved.
I want to post more about all of this, but my access to internet is limited.
That's right, I do not have internet access at my new apartment right now for I am poor and need to develop some wealth before I think about getting those kind of luxuries.
Well, till next time... God bless you all!

Wear Ear Plugs
Today I wore ear plugs while doing yard work.
It made the whole experience more peaceful and gave me less of a headache afterwards.
If you care for your own lawn (which I believe all able-bodied people should) I highly recommend wearing ear plugs while using loud lawn equipment. i.e. mowers, edgers, weed-eaters, etc.
Just some random advice for you all today!

New word I learned today
My name is Adam Hymel (YaY!) and I read a new word today and decided to look it up.
The word is: aberrant
Dictionary.com has 13 results for this word that basically means "wandering or deviating from the normal course"
Click the word above to read more about it yourself!

$$$ All Access $$$
Money...
There never seems to be enough...
It always seems like we're scraping the bottom of our income to pay our monthly bills, fix the car, or pay off last Christmas (and it's June!)
I ask a question in this post, and I want comments with answers!
Say you were given all the money you will ever need for everything. I mean money enough to pay all bills, make all purchases, and even a nice reserve for a luxury item now and then.
No, no games or catches... I mean ALL ACCESS to this money, FREE!
Would you take it knowing you would be locked into a life of security? Or would you reject it? Thinking that something given to you that freely isn't worth your time?
Think about it.
Remember, you have ALL ACCESS to this cash.

7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea
Hey, If you happen to find this blog, this post is not an original work of mine. It was posted on Yahoo! Food.
I love green tea though, so I wanted to share it with everyone! ENJOY!
7 Reasons to Drink Green Tea
Posted Tue, Feb 27, 2007, 11:54 am PST
The steady stream of good news about green tea is getting so hard to ignore that even java junkies are beginning to sip mugs of the deceptively delicate brew. You'd think the daily dose of disease-fighting, inflammation-squelching antioxidants - long linked with heart protection - would be enough incentive, but wait, there's more! Lots more.
CUT YOUR CANCER RISK
Several polyphenols - the potent antioxidants green tea's famous for - seem to help keep cancer cells from gaining a foothold in the body, by discouraging their growth and then squelching the creation of new blood vessels that tumors need to thrive. Study after study has found that people who regularly drink green tea reduce their risk of breast, stomach, esophagus, colon, and/or prostate cancer.
SOOTHE YOUR SKIN
Got a cut, scrape, or bite, and a little leftover green tea? Soak a cotton pad in it. The tea is a natural antiseptic that relieves itching and swelling. Try it on inflamed breakouts and blemishes, sunburns, even puffy eyelids. And that's not all. In the lab, green tea helps block sun-triggered skin cancer, whether you drink it or apply it directly to the skin - which is why you're seeing green tea in more and more sunscreens and moisturizers.
STEADY YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE
Having healthy blood pressure - meaning below 120/80 - is one thing. Keeping it that way is quite another. But people who sip just half a cup a day are almost 50 percent less likely to wind up with hypertension than non-drinkers. Credit goes to the polyphenols again (especially one known as ECGC). They help keep blood vessels from contracting and raising blood pressure.
PROTECT YOUR MEMORY, OR YOUR MOM'S
Green tea may also keep the brain from turning fuzzy. Getting-up-there adults who drink at least two cups a day are half as likely to develop cognitive problems as those who drink less. Why? It appears that the tea's big dose of antioxidants fights the free-radical damage to brain nerves seen in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
STAY YOUNG
The younger and healthier your arteries are, the younger and healthier you are. So fight plaque build-up in your blood vessels, which ups the risk of heart disease and stroke, adds years to your biological age (or RealAge), and saps your energy too. How much green tea does this vital job take? About 10 ounces a day, which also deters your body from absorbing artery-clogging fat and cholesterol.
LOSE WEIGHT
Oh yeah, one more thing. Turns out that green tea speeds up your body's calorie-burning process. In the every-little-bit-counts department, this is good news!

New Laptop / Random Stuff
i just need to do some random blogging. I'm sitting here upstairs in my house in a chair. did you need to know that much detail? No, but I felt the need to tell you anyways only because I feel it could make what I say next have a little more meaning.
I recently purchased a new laptop that I am typing with right now. it's nice. It's a dell, it's my 2nd laptop to own and it's my first laptop that came with wireless internet capabilities already installed. No more purchasing a special card to insert into the laptop to make it wireless. No, this thing was ready to go and picked up the wireless connection in my house literally as soon as i turned the thing on.
I know a lot of you are probably like, "what's so exciting about a laptop with wireless internet? I've been using one forever!" Well, I'm sorry i'm so late getting into this game, but for me, not having to use a long cord to connect to the internet is kinda nice and i'm excited about it.
I think it's taken me 20 minutes to write this much because of a distraction I call TELEVISION.
I can't pause live TV at my house. I thought about recording a TV show a while back and realized I would need a VHS tape to do it... so I'm still old school enough right now.
The point of this whole blog was to tell you that my name is Adam and I think it's a good name for me. It says a lot.

World's Worst Blogger
I am terrible at blogging...
I am the worst blogger ever!
I am not even linking anything within the text of this post.
I have not written my review of the Newsboys concert I went to.
I have not begun my catholic apologetic series as i promised.
I fear when i begin my apologetics, someone will have their faith shaken and may turn away from reading my blog... It's hard for us to hear the things I may say.... (Jesus!!! hehe)
Does anyone actually read my blog? Or have they given up due to the fact I never blog?
Blog is a cool word...
YaY!
God bless!

Current Life Events
What's up world!
It's Thursday afternoon and I'm about to pack for my trip to Louisiana this weekend. That's right, I'm chaperoning for my teens at IHM as we go to the Steubenville South Catholic Youth Conference in Alexandria, Louisiana.
This will be my 7th time attending the conference (3rd time as a chaperone). I'm really excited as always to join my teens on this journey through one of the most powerful weekends of their lives thus far.
I'll write more about the Conference and my personal stories about it all later. Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be there with those kids praising God for he is GOOD!!!
The theme is "Unchanging" which is exactly what God's love for us is... unchanging!
Did I mention I have the best girlfriend in the world? Yeah... I do... her name is Lissa!

Welcome to my blog everyone!
I will try to keep my posts centered around subject matter that will expand your mind, but perhaps every now and then I'll slip and something weird will show up... Perhaps more than just "now and then"
Anyways, this is all for my first post. Enjoy!
